Dragon Media Online, Inc. Web Privacy Statement

Dragon Media Online ("DMO") and our affiliated companies worldwide are committed to respecting your online privacy and recognize your need for appropriate protection and management of any information you share with us by using our web sites, products and services. DMO reserves the right to append or otherwise modify this Privacy Statement at any time, so please re-visit this page occasionally to check for updates.

Please read this Privacy Statement carefully since by accessing our website and sharing information with us, you agree to be bound by our Privacy Statement and freely consent to the information collection and use practices described in this Privacy Statement. DMO has established the following Privacy Statement so that you can understand the care with which we intend to treat your information. This policy describes the overall privacy practices of DMO regarding information we collect on our network of web sites and through our other Internet advertising mediums, including but not limited to email. This policy does not apply to the practices of companies that DMO does not own or control, or to people that DMO does not employ.

Information Collected by DMO

Non-Personally Identifiable Information

DMO collects various types of information from you to better meet your needs and to provide you with a more relevant user experience. Some of this information is collected automatically through cookies (a small text file placed on your computer) or other Internet tracking technologies such as web beacons. Most browsers allow you to control cookies, including whether or not to accept them and how to remove them. You may set most browsers to notify you if you receive a cookie, or you may choose to block cookies with your browser. Please note that rejecting cookies by changing your browser settings may result in a lower quality experience for you while you are visiting DMO web sites.

Information Collected Automatically

The types of information your browser or internet session automatically sends us each time you visit one of our sites, which we automatically collect from our web server logs, includes:

  • Your browser, e.g., Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator.
  • Your Internet domain, e.g., AOL, Netcom, Earthlink, etc.
  • Your computer’s operating system, e.g., Windows, Macintosh, UNIX, Linux.
  • Your navigation path, i.e., the URLs of where you come to our site from, which of our pages you visit, and where you go as your leave.
  • Your IP Address.

This information lets us see how users are finding our sites, and it tells us which pages are visited the most often so we can make our web sites more useful. The non-personally identifiable information that DMO collects is used for marketing and sales efforts to better target advertisements and other content in an effort to create a more personally relevant experience. The information is also used to predict responses to advertisements, and to help determine which ads perform best and which content is most appropriate for different individuals. We may share with third parties non-personally identifiable aggregate information, such as how many individuals clicked on a specific advertisement on an anonymous or non-identifiable basis.

Personally Identifiable Information

We only collect personal information from our visitors on a voluntary basis. Please be cautious in determining which information (especially personally identifiable information) you choose to provide. Personal information may include name, email address, physical address, telephone or facsimile number or demographic information such as age, gender and personal interests. The personal information you provide to us is used to fulfill your request, and may be combined with information from third parties to provide you with information, to market products, events, and/or services that may be of interest to you or to customize our products and services to serve you better. These offers may come directly from us, from our affiliates or from other reputable third parties whose privacy policies are consistent with our own. If you do not wish to receive such offers, please see the "Updating" section below to adjust your preferences.

Your information may also be shared with our subsidiaries, affiliates or other trusted third parties who assist us in administering the site, including processing personal information, and various programs and promotions on our behalf. These individuals and entities can only use the information to administer our site and programs and are bound to keep and process your information in compliance with this Statement and other confidentiality and security provisions. In addition, there is also the possibility that DMO, or part(s) of the company, may in the future be purchased by, or merged with, another company. In the event of such transaction, the acquiring (or merging) company will have access to all collected personally identifiable information. DMO may also disclose such information to a third party if we believe, in our discretion, that we are required to do so pursuant to a subpoena, court order, or other form of legal process, to comply with requests from law enforcement agencies or a government agency, department, or body, whether or not pursuant to any form of legal process, or to protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of DMO or of its employees. This also includes sharing information with other parties to detect or prevent the occurrence of fraud.

Third Party Advertisers

Please also note that our sites may include third party advertising and our advertisers may contract with reputable third-party companies such as advertising networks to serve ads on their behalf. These companies may also use cookies or other measures to collect both your personal and non-personally identifiable information. The information practices and privacy policies of these companies collecting data on our site or websites linked to DMO are not covered by this Privacy Statement.

Security

We take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect the information you share with us from unauthorized access or disclosure. All personally identifiable information you provide is maintained in confidence by DMO and is not available to the public. Please note, however, that while we strive to protect your data, it may be possible for third parties not under the control of DMO to unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of information you transmit to us. You acknowledge and assume this risk when communicating with us.

Updating Personally Identifiable Information and Use Preferences

You may choose whether or not to provide personally identifiable information to DMO. If you choose to provide such information to DMO, you have the right to update your information for accuracy as well as to tell us not to make some of the uses of such information described herein or to have such information deleted in its entirety.
